Spring 2025:

MUD is offering a Wednesday Mixed League played at Thomas Jefferson Park and a Sunday “Casual” League played in Van Cortlandt Park.

Gender ratios for leagues are expressed as: Defenders of Men (“DoMs”) / Defenders of Womxn (“DoWs”) / Defenders of Choice (“DoCs”). DoC (a player who is given the choice to choose in the binary, primarily intended for gender-expansive players)

**Please Note** Due to drastic permit price increases of up to 150%  enacted by the Parks department this year, MUD was forced to increase our leagues prices to sustain operations.

Wednesday Mixed League – experienced players

• Mini Field 5v5 ultimate and a gender ratio of 2 DoM / 2 DoW / 1 DoC
• Games will tentatively begin Wednesday, April 9th, with playoffs on June 4th and/or 11th.
• 2 games per week, on Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:30 PM, at Thomas Jefferson Park (113th Street and 1st Ave)
• Defenders of Men entry will decided by lottery

Sunday Casual League – newcomers welcome!

• Full-field 7v7 Mixed Ultimate, with teams being drafted with a 5:1:1 or 4:2:1 ratio based on registrations. In-game ratios will be flexible based on that day’s attendance.
• Games will tentatively begin Sunday, April 6th with playoffs on June 8th
• 2 games per week, on Sundays at Van Cortlandt Park, 10:00A.M. – 1:00 PM.

Fees and Discounts

• The Spring 2025 MUD league Fees are:
  • $130 for Wednesday Mixed League
  • $110for Sunday Casual League
  • $225 for both Wednesday Mixed League and Sunday Casual League
  • We will NOT be providing league shirts and discs for this season.
• Student Discount: $10 off to those aged 18-23. Please sign up for your desired league(s), and we will refund the discount to anyone eligible based on the Date of Birth you put in your site registration. This can stack with the first-timer or referral discounts.
• First-Timer Discount: $20 off for any player new to the league (their+with the referral discount
• Referral Discount: $20 off if you refer someone new to the league (i.e., playing their first MUD season).  To claim it, mention the person’s name during registration, and they should mention your name during their site sign-up, and we will refund you the discount.  Does not stack with your own first-timer discount.
• Affordability: We want everyone to feel they can play with us, no matter their means.  We have both discounted and complimentary roster spots reserved for players for whom the registration fees are a burden, but who would otherwise play.  If this applies to you, please check the “affordability” box during registration, and someone from MUD administration will reach out to find a way to make it work for you.
• The Refund Policy for league fees is as follows:
  • Full refund if you withdraw from the league before teams are assigned or are not assigned a team.
  • Half refund if you withdraw from the league after teams are assigned.
  • No refund if you withdraw from the league more than two weeks after the season begins.

Details for All Leagues

• We expect better than 50% attendance from all players. If you will not be able to attend more than half of the games, please do not register. If your attendance at the end of the season was below 50% without prior communication with captains and league commissioners, you may be automatically waitlisted from future seasons.
• If Van Cortlandt Park is closed from rain, we may relocate games to Randall’s Island or Riverside Park, depending on permits and commissioners’ discretion.  No make-up games will be scheduled for any canceled games, except for playoffs if needed and dependent on field availability.
• All players must be at least 18 years old by April 6th
• Players may register for one or both leagues.
  • If you wish to play in both leagues, please indicate this in the registration form and pay for both leagues. If you are only drafted into one league, MUD will refund you the difference.
• Baggage requests are limited to one other person per league. Requests must be entered during registration, and each player must specifically request the other player as baggage.
  • We strive to facilitate all baggage requests whenever possible, but sometimes we are unable to fulfill baggage due to space/skill/spirit concerns. Please let us know why you are baggaging and we will be sure to consider that when forming teams. Baggage priority will be given to players who are new to the league, dating, or married.
